My number one priority
as a physician is to explain things
to you, the patient, so that they make sense to you. As a provider who
often sees patients who have seen other
urologists, it’s important to get down to
that basic information so that we can come to our
best understanding of exactly what is going on. Once we do that,
it’s much easier for us to come to a mutually
agreed upon decision for a treatment plan, whether
that be surgery, medication, observation, or
behavioral modification. I’m a fellowship-trained
minimally invasive urological oncologist who has been
providing this care for over 20 years, the last 14 of which
have been here at MUSC, providing that care to South
Carolinians in the Charleston area in particular. I’m best known for treating
prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and urologic stone disease. I chose to work at
MUSC Health principally because of the large group
of like-minded individuals who are interested in providing
the highest quality care to patients in South Carolina. And that’s really
the same reason why patients should choose
to come to MUSC Health. Over the years that I’ve
been in health care, I’ve found that there
is really no such thing as a simple problem. And it’s for that reason
exactly why patients should come to a place where if there
is any other thing that arises, they have that opportunity
to take advantage of all those providers who are there. And these are
people who I can use to also help in providing
that care for my patients.
